I am using a variation of the Roland rx-j901 mutoh 1649, called uv600i or dtg-24. It had used a wasatch rip but that wasnt working to well, so i tried the coldesi rip, which is cadlink based.

Awesome. You did some work definitely. I wouldn't use white ink in white Coloplast personally, but it might have a use for color vibrancy (cmyk), might help them POP a little. Which printer are using and what rip?

Hey SuperTech220, Yeah I found all that stuff out, and a new link to the Mutoh Club. I also found out a bit more info on that program, it has a very specific way to get there. Namely its always there but the way you access it isn't an obvious clickable button. Hilarious!! Now my biggest hurdle is when signing up for the club, it askes for the machine or heads serial number. I dont know how to get that from the machine. Thanks for responding! I will keep trying , not to make mistakes that screw up the machine. Current issue: a lot of over-spray getting all over the inside.....will keep posting updates! ant

Well when I look at the original docs for the say Mutoh VJ XXXX (i forget the # either 1207 1607 , ????) they all have that program, which tells me Mutoh was a little more involved, they all use the dx5 printhead albeit either water or solvent , i dont know. If you missed the other post I had I want you to tell me this one: I've been working on inkjet printers since bubblejets were phazed out(were they?) Here's my question, or the one asked most the time from me: What are the differences in all the Epson DX5 print heads, other than water and solvent. There are locked heads, unlocked heads, black fpc, green fpc, four-color, six-color.... and lets say mine uses a green 30pin fpc, as long as i use a green fpc one will that work? or I have a machine that uses or has 4 whites connected instead of 2 whites and 2 clears, will that head work any differently or is it still the same? If the old PC had a previous version of firmware installed , then you went to a new PC and it updated , that would explain it. That is a very BASIC explanation of mainboard firmware and printhead firing parameters.

Thanks SuperTech220, I have learned so much this past year, I have been working on what seems to be a Mutoh based Epson machine, I guess as the saying goes "If it ain't broke..." applies here, except for the subtle changes between medias used, they all look the same. I was hoping to gain enough knowledge to be able to rebuild a stuck head , but i now know that that may be next to impossible, as my hands are just not that small!!! ha ha.
